Dorothy K. Archambeau, age 82, of Holland, and formerly of Monclova, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Dorothy graduated from BGSU in education and taught business courses for 19 years in Whiteford Agricultural School in Ottawa Lake, MI. She was class advisor there for many years and was the advisor for the business club. She was very well thought of by her students as they used to write letters to her telling of their successes and what they had accomplished. She retired in 1980. Her memberships included St. Joan of Arc Parish, past member of St. Joseph's Church, Maumee, The Maumee Elks, Monclova Republican Club, the Monclova Ladies Aid, where she did quilting, Good Sam's Club and The Whiteford Teachers Association, of which she was past secretary. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, gardening, weaving, and basket-making. She was a member of many card clubs and thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their sporting events.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, James W. "Archie" Archambeau; daughters, Jane (Dan) Archambeau Dombrowski of Jerome, MI, and Mary Lou (George) Bock of Monclova, OH; granddaughters, Liz, Bridgett, and Megan, and her brother, Robert (Lucille) Kiefer of Ottawa Lake, MI.
Friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee, Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. They would also like to thank St. Luke's Hospital and its staff for their loving care and attention. A Scripture service will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
