Obituary:
Robert F. Kiefer, 94, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away Saturday December 6, 2014, at the Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. He was born in Monclova, Ohio, January 27, 1920, to parents Fred and Lucy (Mollenkopp) Kiefer. Robert married his childhood sweetheart, Lucile Archambeau, in Monclova, in 1941, and she recently preceded him in death.

A carpenter by trade, Robert worked out of Carpenters Local 1138 for many years, and was a life-long farmer in Ottawa Lake. An active member of the community, He was proud to have served on the Whiteford Volunteer Fire Department for more than 25 years, and, as a member of the the Whiteford Agricultural School Board. Robert coached baseball for many years with the Whiteford Recreation Club. He and Lucile were avid travelers, and enjoyed visiting all the 50 states.

Robert is survived by his sons William (Carol) of Ottawa Lake, and Barry (Sandy) Kiefer of Ada, MI; grandchildren Jeff(Tina) Kiefer, Jill (Albert) Bucher, Jodi Lynn (Michael) Bucher, Jennifer (Wayne) Appleton, Katie (Scott) Fish, Timothy (Devin) Kiefer; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Archambeau.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Wednesday December 10th from 4 – 9 PM, where Robert’s life will be celebrated Thursday at 11 AM, interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery.

Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider the Promedica Hospice or the Whiteford or Ottawa Lake Volunteer Fire Departments.

Robert's family would like to thank the staffs of both Vibrant Life Senior Living, Temperance, and the Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, for their loving care and support during this trying time.
