Mrs. Ruby Lurlea Lee, 81, Pryor passed away Sunday, May 2, 2004 in Mayes County Medical Center, Pryor, following a short illness. Ruby the daughter of Richard Calloway Fielden and Jessie Ann (Sullivan) Fielden, was born on April 19, 1923 near Depew in Creek County, Oklahoma. One of ten children, Ruby moved with her family to Mayes County when she was one year of age. As a child she attended Bald Knob and Osage Schools west of Pryor. She married Albert Eugene Lee on August 21, 1943 at the Rogers County Court House, Claremore. She and Albert were joint partners in their farming and cattle ranching operation. Ruby was a hard working wife and mother who always saw to her husband and children's needs, they were the joy of her life. A homemaker who also worked daily alongside Albert on the family's 500 acre farm. Ruby also often cared for several thousand laying hens at the same time. For many years she supplied eggs to several local grocery stores and to Mayes County Medical Center. As a young mother she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, baptized and became a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. A quiet and reserved lady, Ruby enjoyed being a member of the 'Mary Sunday School Class' at Pleasant View Baptist Church; was a great country cook who enjoyed cooking for her family; holiday times at Thanksgiving and Christmas; family cook-outs; and being 'Grandma' and 'Nanna' to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Albert; her sons, Leroy Douglas and Sigrid Charles, Pryor; Stanley Albert and Ronda Lee, Pryor; daughter, Patricia Ann and Sam Garner, Norman; grandchildren, Cheri, Lura, Jason, Kimberli, Erich, Manfred, Dieter; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Lorene Charles, Vinita and Leota Pitts, Pryor. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, Lloyd Fielden, Laurel Fielden, Charles Fielden, Richard Fielden, Leslie Steffens, Lester Fielden and an infant sibling.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Pleasant View Baptist Church with Dr. Sam L. Garner, Reverend Jarold Pilant and Reverend Delmar Yates officiating. Casketbearers will be Leroy Charles, Stan Lee, Sam Garner, Jason Garner, Ray Hester and Wayne Scroggins. Serving as Honorary Casketbearers will be Gene Paul Burke, Dave Scheidt, Melvin Kester, Roger Moore and Jerry Stinson. Interment will be in the Adair Cemetery in Adair, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Jim Green Funeral Home of Pryor.
