17 APR 2022 SAC to add parental links.~Wilma Lorene Charles, 97 year old Vinita resident, died on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Heartsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on June 16, 1916 in Depew, Oklahoma to Richard Calaway Fielden and Jessie Ann (Sullivan) Fielden.

Wilma attended school in Pryor. On November 8, 1933 she married Stephen Harlton Charles in Claremore. They lived in the Big Cabin area until 1961, when they moved to their home north of Vinita. Wilma worked several places over the years including; Munsingwear, Ben Franklin, Big Cabin School Cafeteria, Daugherty's Store and Autumn Homes. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, ceramics, reading, and walked six miles a day for many years. Wilma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vinita.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Stephen Harlton Charles in 2004, her eldest son, Bobby Harlton Charles in 2007; siblings, Charlie, Richard, Lloyd, Laurl and Lester Fielden, Leslie Hendricks, Luralea Lee and an infant sister; great-granddaughter, Heather Lea Winfrey.
The family includes: two sons, Leon Charles and wife Faye of Vinita, Larry Charles and wife Pat of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; a daughter, Ruby Horner and husband Rex of Clifton, Tennessee; daughter in-law Lavern Charles of Big Cabin; a sister, Leota Pitts of Pryor; nine grandchildren, Sherry Tuell of Pryor, Dana Collins of Ketchum, Robert Charles of Bartlesville, Doug Charles of Vinita, Robin Agler of Bloomington, Indiana, Rick Winfrey of Cleora, Cheryl Charles of Louisville, Kentucky, Cindy Schmidt of Borden, Indiana, Chris Charles of Louisville, Kentucky; fourteen great-grandchildren, Courtney Collins, John Collins, Jennifer Hinson, Ryan Charles, Shannon Charles, Michael Charles, Sarah Charles, Bryce Agler, Taylor Agler, Chase Winfrey, Rian Winfrey, Garrett Schmidt, Lindsay Charles, and Hailey Charles; four great-great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kylie, Matthew, and Lilly Hinson; numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Wednesday evening February 19, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Henry "Skip" McClain officiating. Interment will follow at the Big Cabin Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com
