Sallie is believed to be the daughter of Major Marmaduke Bradley and Lydia "Liddy" Byrd of Wake Co., NC. They eventually moved to Bedford Co., TN.

"Major" is his first name, n-o-t a title.

One of Sallie's kids, Lydia Marr Craig, actually named one of her children MAJOR Craig, which strengthens the purported link. That branch of the family moved on to Texas.

Sally Marr's son Richard was born in Bedford County at the time of Major and Liddy's residence therein (they, too, had moved from NC); they and son Reding lived next door to purported son Joel Bradley and his wife, Mary. Apparently the John Marr family was in Bedford ca 1830.

[The elder Major is also seen as Major Marmaduke Bradley. It is believed Dennis Sampson Bradley was his father (and that, possibly, Sarah Turner was his mother). This is another research need.]

[Liddy's dad is said to be Edmond/Edmund Byrd. She apparently named Sarah's other brother Edmund Bradley. (She and a brother, Joel, were listed as orphans following Edmond's death in Wake Co., NC prior to 1785.)]

Her brothers, Edmond Bradley and Joel Bradley, appear on Find-a-Grave, as well.

Also of note: one of Sally's grandchildren, by son Lesell, was named George Edmond Marr.
