Based on logic and hearsay, I am placing Major and his wife here. He, his wife, his son, Joel Bradley, grandchildren and others are specifically mentioned in a grandson's will that requested plain stones to be placed atop their graves.

The bulk, if not all, of the other people mentioned are buried in Round Hill Cemetery.

Furthermore, in the 1860 Census, Major is living in Belfast.

Incidentally, Major is his first name and NOT a title! He is believed to be the son of Dennis Bradley and Sarah Turner, and was apparently a soldier in the War of 1812.

Major married Lydia "Liddy" Byrd (also seen as Bird), daughter of Edmond Bird and - it is believed - Mary "Polly" Holderfield (spellings vary, again), on 19 February 1800 in Wake Co., NC, eventually moving to Bedford Co., TN.

Exact dates of migration are unknown, but apparently before 1830. Major shows up in some early land registers for Tennessee, but it is difficult to determine exactly what those early documents are telling us.

His birth date is estimated, based on 1830 - 1850 censuses.

Death date should more appropriately be "after June 1860."
