Obituary: FORD
Clarence Raymond Ford wa s born May 25, 1914 in Norton, Kansas, the son of Leon A. and Rebecca Jane Burgess and died at his home on March 7, 1981, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 12 days. He grew to manhood in this community and attended the Norton grade and high schools. He was married to Zelma Mae Taylor on May 21, 1938 at Norton. He later married Dorothy Maxine Schaffer Annan on June 7, 1960 at Phillipsburg, Kansas.
He was a mechanic until 1954, later drove for Ideal, worked at construction and later worked for Fawcett Well Drilling.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Norton; two daughters Cleo Rae and her husband Rufus Tippins of Anderson, South Carolina; Barbara Lee and her husband Ronald Clayton of Tucson, Arizona; one step-daughter Ann and her husband Fred Houghton of Costa Mesa, California; 7 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters Helen Ford, and Ivalee and her husband Lloyd Perrill of Norton and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Services were held on Wednesday, March 11, 1981 from the Enfield-Eckhart funeral home at Norton with Myron Hendricks officiating. Music was furnished by Sonya Paul, organist, and W.A. Webb, soloist singing "The Resurrection-God's Loving Provision." Casket bearers were Larry Shephard, John Holeman, Charles (Bud) Posson, Phillip Lowry, and Allen Kindall, all of Norton, and William A. (Bill) Posson of Phillipsburg. Interment was in the Norton cemetery.
