Obituary: Mrs. Lee Ford Dies Following Lengthy Illness
Mrs. Lee Ford, 65, well known Norton resident, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday January 22, at her home following more than 2 months of illness. She became ill Nov. 4 & had surgery Nov. 8 at Concordia. She returned to her home Nov. 19 but remained in failing health.
Funeral services were to be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at The Scott-Brantley Funeral Home with interment at the Norton Cemetery & Rev. Reinhart J. Johnson, officiating.
Rebecca Jane Burgess was born Jan. 17, 1890 at Hastings, Nebr., a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Burgess. She lived at Hastings & at McCook until her marriage-April 3, 1907, to Lee Ford. Mrs. Ford, a member of the First Baptist Church, was known as a pleasant, friendly woman. She devoted her life to helping friends, neighbors & members of her family. In addition to her own children, she raised one niece, Mrs. Ina Lee Lacy of Yuma, Ariz.
Survivors are her husband, two daughters, one son, three sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, three sons, one daughter and one sister. The surviving children are Helen Ford, Mrs. Inalee Perrill and Raymond Ford, all of Norton.
