Funeral for Mrs. W.A. (Bert) Pate, 83 of 112A North Sanders was held Monday at 2 p.m. in Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with interment in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Shelby County, Texas.

Officiating were Rev. Gary Roberts, pastor of Nacogdoches Missionary Baptist Church, and Dr Allen Reed, pastor of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pate died Saturday, Feb. 27, in Medical Center Hospital.

Born Oct. 28, 1904, in Live Oak County, she was the daughter of Felix C. and Georgia Robinson Cox. She was a member of Nacodgoches Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband died in 1978.

Surviving are a step son, L.D. Pate of Nacogdoches; two step daughters, Loretta Pate McCarty of Nacogdoches and LaDenia Pate Murphy of McAllen; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lonnie Cox, Thurman McCarty, Roger Davis, Delbert Pate, Lynn Murphy, James Murphy, Rodney McCarty, and Larry Standridge. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Nacogdoches Missionary Baptist Church, Elmer Wicker, Marvin Cherry, Tom Penny, Charles Boyd, Jesse Fountain, Cecil Hopson, and Ray Wooten.

Music was directed by Robert Francis and Kathy Sutton.

Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors were in charge of the arrangements.
