Funeral services for Terry Cox, 44, who died in Beeville Hospital Saturday, July 1, as the result of an injury sustained when struck by falling pipe on an oil rig, were held Sunday, July 2, at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Rev. Aubria A. Sanders officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Oliver Roberts, C. A. Nolan, James . Coquat, W. E. Morrison, W. A. Dickinson, and J. J. Custer.
Mr. Cox was born in Karnes County September 25, 1899, a son of Felix C. and Georgia (Robinson) Cox. He was married to Miss Lelia Ballard at Beeville November 26, 1921, and the family have made their home in Bee county since.
Besides his wife, Mr. Cox is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Vance and Miss Fay Cox; two sons, Terry Jr. and Monty, all of Beeville; three brothers, E. W. and Barney Cox, Center; Ward Cox, Orange; five sisters, Mars. J. R. North, Mineral; Mrs. E. L. Sparkman, Three Rivers; Mrs. W. A. Pate, Center; Mrs. S. S. Powers, Oakville, and Mrs. Nora Pate, Rusk, and father, Felix Cox, Oakville.
He was a member of the Baptist church, having united with that denomination at Oakville in 1922.
