Short Bio: Born in Floresville, Texas to Felix and Georgia Robinson Cox, he grew up with 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Three months after his induction May 27, 1918 he departed for the war in France with Company B, 350 Infantry Regiment aboard the Troopship USS Delta. Nine months later at wars end his unit departed St. Nazaire, France aboard the USS Delta and arrived at Newport News, Virginia at the end of May 1919. They were then transported to Camp Alexander, Virginia and honorably discharged June 6, 1919. He married Susan "Susie" Margaret Baugh in 1920 at Live Oak County, Texas. Son Lonnie and daughter Mamie were born in 2924 and 1927 and they spent the next several years in Hutchinson, Kansas where Earnest was employed as a mechanic and pipe fitter. They returned to Shelby County in the mid 1940's and lived out their lives. Earnest and Susan are buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas with daughter Mamie.

1918, August 11: Age 25, Departed Brooklyn, New York aboard the USS Delta with 350 Infantry Regiment. Father Felix Cox, Mineral, Texas listed as next of kin.

1919, May 19: Age 26, Departed St. Nazaire, France aboard the Troop Transport Ship USS Aeolus with Company B, 350 Infantry Regiment. Father Felix Cox, Mineral, Texas listed as next of kin. Upon arrival the unit was transported to Camp Alexander, Newport News, Virginia for discharge processing.

1919, June 6: Age 26, Honorably discharged. Awarded the World War I Victory Medal and honorable discharge lapel pin.

1920: Age 27, Married Susan "Susie" Margaret Baugh in Live Oak County, Texas.

1924, October 29: Age 31, Son Lonnie born in Mineral, Bee County, Texas.

1925, May 31: Age 32, Brother Felix died of a gunshot wound in Pettus, Bee County, Texas at the age of 26. Circumstances unknown. Buried in the Salt Branch Cemetery, Mineral, Bee County, Texas.

1927, August 6: Age 34, Daughter Mamie born in Reno County, Kansas.

1930 Census: Age 37, Living with wife Susie (30); son Lonnie (5) and daughter Ozella (2); Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. Employed as a Salt Plant Mechanic.

1940 Census: Age 47, Living with wife Susie (40); children Lonnie (15) and Mamie (12); Nickerson, Reno County, Kansas. Employed as a Pipe Fitter.

1942, April 27: Age 49, Registered for the World War II Draft from residence in Nickerson, Reno County, Kansas. "Not able to work". Crippled in both legs. 5' 10:, 160 pounds.

1943, January 31: Age 49, Mother Georgia passed in Oakville, Live Oak County, Texas at the age of 75. Buried in the Three Rivers Cemetery, Three Rivers, Live Oak County, Texas.

1944, July 1: Age 51, Brother Terry died of an injury sustained when he was struck by a falling pipe on an oil rig. Buried in the Glenwood Cemetery, Beeville, Bee County, Texas. World War I, US Navy Veteran.

1946, October 23: Age 53, Daughter Mamie passed of Typhoid Fever at the age of 19 at the home of her parents, Center, Shelby County, Texas.

1954, January 3: Age 60, Father Felix passed in Beeville, Been County, Texas at the age of 90. Buried in the Three Rivers Cemetery, Three Rivers, Live Oak County, Texas.

1971, March 10: Age 77, Sister Ola passed in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas at the age of 82. Buried in the Three Rivers Cemetery, Three Rivers, Live Oak County, Texas.

1974, January 22: Age 80, Sister Norma passed in Nacogdoches, Texas after a lengthy illness. Buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Center, Shelby County, Texas.

1974, April 22: Age 81, Passed at Memorial Hospital, Center, Texas. Buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Center, Shelby County, Texas.
