She was formerly a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Staunton, Va., and she was an active bowler in the Shelby Womens Bowling Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Christopher and Luna Pearl Smith Beattie; her son, David Mathew Beattie; and three brothers, Wilburn Austin Beattie, Belvin James Beattie, and Billy Stough Beattie.
