Harrison Keim was born near Meyersdale, Pa., Feb. 25,
1864, and died at the Blue Valley Lutheran Home at Hebron,
Nebr., Jan. 22, 1952, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 28 days. He was the youngest of nine children born to Joseph
and Eliza Keim.

In 1866 the Keim family moved to Salisbury, Somerset
County, Pa. It was here when a youth of 15 he was admitted
into full communion with the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran
Church on confession of faith and the rites of Confirmation.

The family moved to Nebraska in 1880 and settled on a
farm six miles east of Carleton.

On July 30, 1889, he was united in marriage to Ella
Shumaker of Somerset County, Pa., and established their
home on the old Keim farm, transfering their church membership to the English Lutheran Church of Bruning.
Jan. 3, 1917, his wife passed away.

Mr. Keim united with the Methodist Church of Bruning
in 1924 and later in 1941 he; transfered to the Carleton
Methodist Church.

On retiring from the farm, he made his home for a
number of years with relatives, then re-established his
home in Carleton. Here he resided until in November 1950, when he entered the Lutheran Home in Hebron.

Mr. Keim was the last member of the Joseph Keim family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one foster daughter, Mrs.
Myrtle Casper of California, a number of nieces and nephews,
and many old friends in the, Bruning and Carleton
Communities.

Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon in the
Carleton Methodist Church, Rev. A. C. Bates of Cortland
officiated.

Interment was in the Bruning Public Cemetery.

Relatives from out-of-town attending the funeral services
were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Keim of Beaver City, Mr. and Mrs.
Van Steenberg of Bloomington and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Liven-
good of Bruning.
