She was born the last child of George and Elizabeth Layton in Coatesville, Indiana; she grew up in Floyd Twp., Putnam County and married at age 16 to Dr. Joseph Noble of Putnam County in Hendricks County 20 Feb. 1873. By 1876 they resided in Clinton Twp, Henry County, Missouri where he set up his medical practice. By 1880 they lived on their farm in Davis Twp., Henry County, Missouri. She died of peritonitis at the near age of 30 in a hospital in Jackson County, Missouri. She waa returned to Mattoon, Illinois to be buried in the Layton family plot at Dodge Grove Cemetery.
