MILES H. DIEFENDORF Canajoharie, Aug. 3, 1928.— The death of Miles H. Diefendorf occurred at his home on Montgomery street In this village Thursday morning after an illness of several weeks. For the past few years Mr. Diefendorf's health has been gradually falling, but until a short time ago he was able to be about his home and on the street. He was born at Salt Springville 66 years ago and for the past 43 years has resided in this village. For many years he was a well known commission merchant and conducted a place of business on East Main street near the creek bridge, now owned by the Beech-Nut Packing company. After retiring from business he spent the greater part of his time about his home, which he greatly enjoyed. He waa a member of the Methodist church and among its most regular attendants and most liberal supporters and has served for many years on the official board of this church. Besides his wife, formerly Mary E. Barnes, whom he married In 1883, he Is survived by three daughters, Miss Elsie M. Diefendorf, Mrs. Roy B. Williams and Mrs. Robert W. Burns, all of this village, and a sister, Mrs. George W. Everson of Palatine church. The funeral will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev.. C M Sturgess officiating. Burial will be In the Fort Plain cemetery.
