She was a graduate of the Caruthersville High School with the class of 1939. She was a secretary working for family services and the Green Thumb Program. She was a member of the birthday club, the First Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class. Doris was a good friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Smith and Bessie Wright.
Survivors include: two sisters, Maggie Dunavant and her husband George of Caruthersville, Mo. and Mary K. Davis and her husband Leroy of Vallejo, Calif.; one nephew and seven nieces and special friends, Alvin and Marie Dunavant.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church with Dr. James Pinkerton officiating. Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville.
