Mrs. Mary F. Appleby of near Ryde, Mifflin County, died at her home on Thursday forenoon, March 4, 1948 at 9:20 o'clock. At the time of death she was aged 82 years, 10 months and 16 days. She was united in marriage with George S. Appleby, who died in 1930. She was a lifelong resident of Ryde, and was affiliated with the Ryde Methodist Church all her life. For a number of years she was teacher of the intermediate class in the Sunday School. She was active in the store business for a number of years. Surviving are one son and one daughter: Wayne Appleby and Blanche (Mrs. Blair Miller), both of Ryde. Two daughters and two sons preceded her in death: Fae, Kathryn, Eugene and Dale. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Eva Bratton of Bellwood.

Funeral services will be held at the Booth Funeral Home at McVeytown of Sunday forenoon at 10:45, conducted by the Rev. John A. Hoover of Newton Hamilton. Interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Mount Union. Friends may call at the funeral home from Saturday noon until the hour of services.
