William T. Baker, 80, a resident of Omak since 1925 and member of a pioneer Omak family, died on Thursday, August 16, 1990, in Valley Care Center at Okanogan.

He was born on January 7, 1910, at Southwick, Idaho, to Perry and Nellie (Douglas) Baker. His family homesteaded on the reservation near Omak when he was a child.

He married Josephine Pichette in Omak in 1933. She died in 1937.

Mr. Baker worked in construction at Grand Coulee Dam. He served in the Army during World War II. He later worked for Ogden Electric for several years, for Parm Dickson in Okanogan, and most recently at Keystone Orchards.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Ogilvie, Spokane; one stepson, Bud Howard, Okanogan; three sisters, Irene Cunningham, Okanogan, and Merg Jackson and Mary Hopkins, both of Omak; two brothers, Bud Baker, Inchelium and Tom Baker, Monse; and two grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Graveside serves were held Monday, August 20, 10:00 am at the Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens.
