Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Clem Marland Barney, age 83, died September 23, 2009 in Richfield.

He was born May 30, 1926 in Escalante, Utah, a son of Afton and Lillie Nielsen Barney. He attended High School in Richfield. Clem married Charlotte White, June 14, 1950 in Fredonia, Arizona. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple January 22, 1963.

Clem was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many different callings in his ward and stake. He enjoyed being involved with his large family and loved to support his children and grandchildren in their activities.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte of Richfield; their children: Roger and Marsha Barney, Terry and Pauline Barney, all of Richfield; Scott and Elsie Barney of Salem; Sharee and Richard Wasden of Aurora; Colleen and Nicholas DeAngelo of Provo; Teresa and Roy Hooper of Nephi; Darren and Lana Barney of Richfield; 30 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Freeland and Dorothy Barney of Magna; Donna and Dallin Magleby of Monroe; Larry and Dorothy Barney of Green River, Wyoming.

He was preceded in death by his father, Afton Barney; mother, Lillie N. Conder; step-father, Leo Conder; sisters and brothers: Ronelda Riddle, Orean Barney, Lottie Verdon, Mryl Wilson, LaRean Smith, Maida Barney, Gladys Waters, Vonda Snedeger, and Farrell Barney.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield 15th LDS Ward Chapel, 10 South 200 East in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
