Funeral services were held at ten o'clock Wednesday morning at the LaForge Undertaking Company chapel for William J. Pate, 84, who died Monday evening, May 30, of a heart attack. The Rev. Floyd V. Brower conducted the service and burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Mr. Pate was born October 25, 1870, at Heloise, Tenn., but lived most of his life in Arkansas and Pemiscot county, Mo., where he was in the lumber business. For the past six years he had lived in Caruthersville with his son, Sharon J. Pate.
In addition to his son, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Edwards of this city and a brother, Steve Pate of near Braggadocio.
