She was born at Cottonwood Point December 24, 1878, the daughter of Judge and Mrs. Brasher and in 1901 was married to W.H. Gowen. Mr. Gowen, an engineer, died in a flood on White River December 24, 1927.
Services were held at the Dean Funeral Home Chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. Marvin Niblack officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Hayes Gowen of Memphis, J.A. (Jake) Gowen of Sheffield, Ala. and Robert H. Gowen of St. Louis; a daughter, Mrs. D.C. (Mary Frances) Gladney of Pittsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
