MOULTON -- Funeral for William Rome McCarty, 88, of Moulton, was to be today at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Jackie Shelton officiating.
Burial was to be in Montgomery Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.
Mr. McCarty died Monday at Lawrence County Hospital. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Willie McCarty; a son, Hollis McCarty of Moulton; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Stockton of Moulton; a sister Maggie Drane of Moulton; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to include Frank Fuller, Russell Montgomery, Harold Gene Cole, Hoyt McCarty, Wilbur Jackson and Herman McKelvey.
