Mrs. Sudie Pepper died at her home at Zero on last Friday, January 23rd, after a few hours illiness. Although her health had not been good for some time, her sudden death was a shock to her family and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 25th, at Mt. Salem Separate Baptist Church for Mrs. Sudie Whitlow Peppers who died at her home near Creal, Friday, Jan. 23, 1953, at the age of 57. Services were conducted by Rev. Terry Bishop and Rev. Jimmie Bonta. Burial was in the church cemetery. The daughter of Bosley and Mrs. Tilda Akridge Whitlow, she was born October 1, 1895. She was united in marriage to John Pepper June 14, 1919. To this union seven children were born. Her husband and one child preceded her in death. She professed faith in Christ early in life and joined the Holly Grove Baptist Church, later moving her membership to the Mt. Salem Separate Baptist Church. She is survived by six children, Mrs. Clara Voyles, Mrs. Ophia Clark, and Mrs. Odell Whitlow, all of Louisville; Mrs. Gladys Milby, Mac; Mrs. Mary Lee Sidebottom, Gabe; John Pepper, Jr., Creal; two sisters, Mrs. Ophia Stearman and Mrs. Ora Stearman, both of Lobb; two brothers, Henry Whitlow, Louisville, Lonnie Whitlow, Lobb; and 5 grandchildren.
