Their grandson Barton Williams at the age of 8 came to live with them. Bart was 13 when his grandfather passed away in 1955. Altha and Barton continued to live and care for the farm. Barton was to young to take care of the farm with machinery. His grandfather had a horse to pull a plow but the horse went bad and they had to get rid of it. Bart traded a calf for a walk behind graden tractor. He plowed, cultivated and mowed with that little tractor until Altha and Bart moved off the farm in early 1959. Bart went into the Air Force to get his military behind him so he could return and care for his grandmother. Two weeks after entering the Air Force his grandmother passed away. In Bart's eye Altha was a great women and a wonderful grandmother who is still greatly missed and talked about 50 years later.
