KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Services will be Monday at Porter Funeral Home here for John D. Compton, 81, Kansas City, Kan., who died Wednesday in a hospital here. He was born Sept. 20, 1895 in Franklin County. He lived in Kansas City the past 35 years and was a retired railroad worker.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Kaw Masonic Lodge No. 272, Hi-12, Unit No. 90 of Retired Railway Employees and American Assoc. of Retired Persons.

He was married Feb. 27, 1917 to the former Esther Conrad. She survives at home. Other survivors include 2 sons, John C. Compton, Sepulveda, Calif. and Robert Compton, Lawrence; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Stine and Mrs. Norma Galloway, both of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Thomas O. Compton, Topeka; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
