Special dispatch to the Register:
PHILADELPHIA, PA. - Grace Sugden, 98, of Philadelphia, formerly of Des Moines, died of an abdominal ailment Saturday at her daughter's home here. The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 20 at the Lane Chapel of Plymouth Congregational Church in Des Moines. A private graveside service will be at Resthaven Cemetery there prior to service.
Mrs. Sugden was born in Russell and lived in Des Moines most of her life until 1981, when she moved to Pennsylvania. She previously lived in Marietta, Ohio. She was a homemaker and former teacher and had been a 55 year member of Plymouth Church and a member of the Sunset Study Club and Adeline Club, both in Des Moines.
Survivors include a son, Thomas of Erie, Pa.; and a daughter, Frances Corlies of Philadelphia, and three grandchildren.
