C.L. MIDDLETON PASSES TUESDAY
Last rites for Charles L. "Boy" Middleton, Uncle of Mesdames C.C. Hartman and J.R. Bland of Jesup, who passed away at his Long county home Tuesday after a lengthy illness, were conducted today, (Thursday) at the Middleton Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. David Lastinger officiating, assisted by Rev. L.S. Price of Port Wentworth. Harrison Funeral Home was in charge.
Mr. Middleton, 75, was formerly tax receiver of Long County and ex-chairman of the county board of education, and was well known throughout the section.
Mr. Middleton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Williamson; five daughters, Mrs. Paul J. Eason of Richmond Hill; Miss Lennie Mae Middleton of Ludowici; Mrs. Collin Gaskins of Port Wentworth; Mrs. Albert Parker of Claxton, and a Mrs. Rufus Smith of Brunswick; a brother, A.G. Middleton of Jacksonville, Fla., and three grandchildren.
