Katherine C. Rohr, 90, formerly of 204 E. 17th, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1993 at St. John's of Hays. She was born April 5, 1902 in Munjor to Conrad and Elizabeth (Schumacher) Doerfler.
She married Lawrence P. Rohr on June 22, 1920 in Munjor. He died Sept. 21, 1979.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Alter Society Christian Mothers.
Survivors include seven sons, Elmer of Goodland, Gilbert of Garden City, Floyd of Hays, Walter of Orange Park, Fla., Vernon of Wichita, the Father Vincent of Victoria, LeRoy of Newark, N.J.; two daughters, Esther Ruder and Ruth Pfeifer, both of Hays; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anton Doerfler, Albert Doerfler, and Alex Doerfler; four sisters, Anna Stecklein, Clara Rohr, Agnes Urban and Philomena Befort; a stepbrother, John Ruder; a stepsister, Anna Marie Klaus; a half sister, Clementine Wasinger; and four grandchildren.
Services were Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Vincent Rohr officiating; burial in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Capuchin Province of Mid America.
