Victoria -- Philomena Befort, 87, Munjor, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1987 at St. John's of Victoria nursing home. She was born July 24, 1900 to Conrad and Elizabeth (Schumacher) Doerfler at Munjor.
She married Fidelis Befort April 12, 1921 at Munjor. He died Dec. 14, 1985.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Church, Munjor, the St. Francis Altar Society and Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella, Hays.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald of Hays, Glenn of Austin, Texas, Alvin Doerfler of Highland, Ind.; two daughters, Martina Schmidtberger of Victoria, Bertina Urban of Osborne; a sister, Katie Rohr of Hays; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, St. Francis Church, Munjor, with the Rev. Vincent Rohr officiating; burial in the St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine. There will be a St. Francis Altar Society and Christian Mothers Rosary at 7 p.m. tonight, a Daughters of Isabella Rosary at 7:30 p.m. tonight and a parish wake service at 8 p.m. tonight, all at Brock's.
