Mrs. Iona Chaffee, 93, formerly of Warren Center, died at 2:40 p.m. yesterday June 25, 1971, at the Bradford Manor where she had been a patient for the last three weeks. Mrs. Chaffee leaves 118 descendants. Born in Pike Township, April 19, 1878, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Conklin Canfield, she had spent most of her life in the Warren Center area and was a member of the Warren Center Baptist Church. She was the widow of Fred Chaffee who died Dec. 27, 1926. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Alice) Mosher of Athens, Mrs. Oscar (Beatrice) Parks of Sheshequin, Mrs. Cass (Edith) Barnes of Wysox and Mrs. Leonard (Christine) Barnum of Conklin, N.Y.; two sons, William and George, both of Warren Center; 16 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren; 21 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
