Conklin: Christine I. Rowe, 95, of Conklin entered into eternal rest Friday afternoon, July 27, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Iona Chaffee and was predeceased by her two husbands, Leonard Barnum and Franklin Rowe; two brothers and four sisters. She was a special aunt to several nieces and nephews who survive her. She attended Little White Church in Conklin. She was a retired employee of the G.A.F. Corporation in Binghamton and in her younger years, was a telephone operator in Warren Center, PA. Christine was active in several senior citizen centers and enjoyed travelling throughout her life. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her neighbors in Conklin and the staff at Susquehanna Nursing Center for the compassionate care given to Christine. Funeral and committal services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. The Rev. Timothy D. Easley will officiate. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:30 P.M. until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice in Christine I. Rowe's memory.
