Funeral services for Albert E. Butcher, 53, of 204 Meredith, Phillips, will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Phillips. Officiating will be the Rev. Jim Koonce, pastor, and the Rev. Shad Rue, pastor of Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo.

Graveside rites will be conducted in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery by Isom Masonic Lodge 1242. Burial is under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

A native of Manitou, Okla., Mr. Butcher had been a Phillips resident for 27 years. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. as a stillman and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Phillips, the Isom Lodge No. 1242, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 811 and the Boat and Ski Club.

Survivors include his wife, Louise of the home; one son, Lynn, also of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Laurie Jean Goforth of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Susan Michelle Goforth of Phillips; one brother, James Butcher of Kansas; eight sisters, Mrs. Anita Russell of Blackwell, Okla., Mrs. Cronnin Schriever and Mrs. Dossie Fisher, both of Frederick, Okla., Mrs. Larue Church of Emporia, Kan., Mrs. Billie Courtney of Amarillo, Mrs. Pat Robertson of Dallas, Mrs. Marita Coriner of Snyder, Okla., and Mrs. Bobbie Ann Wood of Muskogee, Okla.

Pallbearers will be Coy Burke, Bud Faylor, Barney Boyd, Bert Castleman, Ken Lanham and B.F. Nixon.

Masons participating in the graveside rites are requested to meet at the Masonic Lodge at 1 p.m., Wednesday.
