Dossie Jane Fisher went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 15, 2013. She passed away in Frederick, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 25 days.
She was born March 20, 1921, at Amity, Arkansas, to Harry D. and Maude (Montgomery) Butcher. When she was young, her family came from Arkansas in a covered wagon to Tillman County, Oklahoma, and settled on the Deep Red Creek. She grew up and attended Holten Schools until the 8th grade and then transferred to and graduated from Manitou High School in 1939.
She was united in marriage to Fred John "Fritz" Fisher, on December 22, 1940. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1996. After they were married, they built a home in the Deep Red Creek area and she lived there the remainder of her life. She farmed with her husband and was active in the Friendship Quilting Club. She was a member of the South Deep Red Baptist Church, where she played the piano. Later she joined Trinity Baptist Church and was a Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Myra Jane Buchwald; two brothers: Albert and James Butcher; six sisters: Anita Russell, Corinna Schreiner, LaRue Church, Billy Courtney, Marita Cronin and Elsie Dale Butcher; and two son-in-laws: Jerry Hanes and Donald Buchwald.
Survivors include a daughter: Mary Joyce Hanes, of Frederick, Oklahoma; two sisters: Ann Woods and husband Bob, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Patsy Robertson, of Wimberly, Texas; a daughter-in-law: Donna Buchwald, of Salina, Kansas; six grandchildren: LeAnna Buchwald, Darrin Buchwald and wife Kandi, Kristi Neuner and husband Don, Jason Hanes and wife Naomi, Kevin Buchwald and wife Cierra, and Brent Buchwald and wife Kristi; 14 great grandchildren: Amanda Hanes, Michael Casey, Zachary Hanes, Emily Neuner, Nathaniel Hanes, Haley Griffith, Brandi Buchwald, Stacey Buchwald, Centonous Buchwald, Nicholas Buchwald, Blake Buchwald, Delaynie Buchwald, Adelyn Buchwald and Briley Buchwald; two step great grandchildren: Heidi Guiterrez and J. R. McClard; two great great grandchildren: Camryn Fatjo and Cooper Fatjo; four step great great grandchildren: Alexis McClard, Brittany Guiterrez, Anthony Guiterrez and Kaden Guitterez; and a host of nieces and nephews.
