HEBER CITY - Merlin D. Simmon, 73, died June 22, 1980, of a heart attack in the Heber City Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1907, Charlston, Wasatch county, to John W. and Phebe Daybell simmons. Maried Grace Winterton, June 5, 1929, Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member, LDS Church. Served full-time mission in the Northern States. Former member, Woodland Ward bishopric. Farmer and rancher. Manager East Millcreek and Canyon Rim Stake Farms, 8 years.
Custodian, Rosecrest Elementary School, Salt Lake City, and ward chapel in Tempe, Ariz. Presently memter Tempe 2nd Ward High Priest Quorum.
Survivors: wife, Tempe; sons, LaVon, Tempe; Oren, Granger; Jack, West Jordan; Clair, Kaysville; brothers and sisters, Darrell, Wayne, Mrs. Alva Mikefell, all Heber City; Mrs. Irma O'Driscoll, Kamas; Mrs. Phebe Fisher, Weldon, both Salt Lake City; Garth and Darwin, both Idaho; Verlin, Logan: Don, Nevada; Mrs. Florin Scheiss, Salt Lake City; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. in the Charleston (Utah) Ward Chapel.
Friends may call Olpin Mortuary, Heber City, Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., and at the church Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Burial, Charleston Cemetery.
