James E. Caywood, 70, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at I.U. Medical Center, Indianapolis. He was born Nov. 6, 1938, in Steuben County, Ind.
He retired in 2001 from Fruehauf Corporation, where he had been plant manager of Fruehauf Plants in Waverly, Ohio, Ft. Madison, Iowa, Lancaster, Pa., and Charlotte, N.C.
James began his career with Fruehauf in Fort Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters, Tricia Caywood of Indianapolis, and Cheryl (Jeff) Wyllie of Pennsylvania; son, Joe Caywood of Mexico; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5. Visitation again 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday Sept. 6, with service following, all at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835.
