Hilda Marie Nystrom was born October 14, 1870, on a farm two
miles south of Scandia, Kan. She was the daughter of Gustav and
Maria Nystrom. On October 16, 1889, she was united
in marriage to Ole Hammer of Norway.
To this this happy union were born six children, a son who died in
infancy, and five daughters all of whom are living.
Her married life was started on a farm near Yuma in Cloud Conty.
Here she bore her children and resided for 12 years. In the spring
of 1902, she moved with her family to the present farm home five miles
southeast of Norway and lived the remainder of her days.
She paassed away on Monday, March 5, 1934, at the age of 63 years,
4 months and 19 days.
She leaves to mourn her death the husband Ole Hammer of the home,
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Vannice and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Ringer and
family, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Stensaas and family, Mr. and Mrs. Rex
E. Gardner and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Widen and family; a
sister, Mrs. Lars Hammer of Scandia; five brothers, John and
Gust of Scandia, Charles Nystrom Orlando, Fla, Frank Nystrom
Of Republic, and Henry of Sabetha, and a host of relatives
and friends.
