Mrs. Agnes Hummer, 39, former resident of New Riegel and a base hospital nurse during the world war, died Sunday afternoon at Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Death followed influenza. Mrs. Hummer, formerly Miss Agnes Hummer, a daughter of John and Catherine Hepp Hummer, was born in New Riegel, May 2, 1889, and after two years at the St. Vincent’s hospital training school Toledo, completed her course in 1916 in Fort Worth, Texas. During the world war she was stationed at the Hoboken, New Jersey base hospital. She had been active in her profession until the time of her illness. She married to Lewis A. Hummer in 1920. Besides her husband and mother she leaves two sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Lydia Lonsway of Berwick is a sister and Leon Hummer of Tiffin a brother.
