Emily C. Sexton Cross, the daughter of the late Manuel and Jane Sexton was born November 17, 1870, departed this life December 18, 1953 at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 1 day. She united in marriage to the late Rev. W. A. Cross, August 8, 1880 and to this union was born 10 children, 2 daughters preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing 4 sons and 4 daughters; James of Helenwood; Thomas and Charlie of Allen, Texas; Hawood of New York; Morlena Cross and Mrs. Lewis Coker of Charleys Branch, Tennessee; Mrs. Howard Newport of McAllen, Texas. 3 sister, Martha Ann Jeffers, Arlena Phillips and Mrs. James Butram of Oneida. 1 brother, Loranza Sexton of Fort Thomas, Kentucky. 30 grandchildren. 40 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
