Ezra Tooele (a) Conger was born on March 28, 1885, in Buckeye (b), Clay County, Alabama, daughter of William Jonas Conger and Hicksey Ann Clementine (Mitchell) Conger.

She attended school in Alabama. In 1893, she and her family came west and settled in southern Utah. On July 15, 1905, Ezra married Reuben J. Jolley in Washington, Utah. In 1913, they moved to Idaho, settling in Oakley, later moving to Burley where they lived their life. On Oct. 5, 1940, Reuben died in Burley, Idaho.

On Feb 27, 1957, she married Roland McGavin in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, Bonneville County, Idaho. On May 31, 1961, Roland, also, preceded her in death in Idaho Falls. Ezra was a member of the LDS Church and had been active in church organizations.

By 1973, her family had expanded to include 43 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

On Thursday, June 28, 1973, Ezra T. (Conger) Jolley McGavin, age 88, died at Cassia Memorial Hospital in Burley of a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, July 2, 1973, in the Burley Second Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Lyman Martindale officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Burley, Cassia County, Idaho.

Footnotes: (a) Also references to middle name spelling as "Tooela" (b) Buckeye, AL given in 1973 newspaper obituary is not found or verified in Clay County. On Nov 15, 2011, Mark Jolley commented that his grandmother (Ezra) wrote that she was born in Buckeye settlement in Clay County, Alabama, in 1885. Her brother, 2 years older, and sister, 1 year younger, were born in Dempsey Prospect which is a mine in Clay County. Nubbin Creek Road was previously called Dempsey Road that became part of Clay County in 1866. He had not found the location of Buckeye.
