The following was taken from his obituary published in Elwood Leader on Wednesday, April 25, 1973:

"Haman Maley"

Haman (Sam) Maley, 71, 1337 S. I St., passed away Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. at Mercy Hospital after an illness of several weeks.

He was born July 25, 1901, in Metamora, Ind., to Michael and Carrie Maley. He was married to Margaret Guard. She survives.

He was retired from Stevens Spring Company. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the widow, two sons, Ralph and Gene Maley, both of Elwood; two brothers, Ervin Maley of Elwood and Robert Maley of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Pansy Alder and Mrs. Thelma Lowder, both of Elwood; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Copher and Fesler Funeral Home with the Rev. O. Gene Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
