Funeral of Mrs. Garner

Missouri Valley, Feb. 11. - Mrs. Anna Garner, one of the early settlers of Harrison county died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. W. Myerse's, Feb. 5. The deceased was 68 years old and was the mother of fourteen children, twelve of whom are still living. Two having died long since.

Mrs. Garner's maiden name was Mahoney. Coming west with her father from their native state, Maryland, in the year 1850, locating at Council Bluffs, then known as Kanesville, remaining there until the year 1861. Mrs. Garner was married to Henry Garner on Feb. 16, 1851. To this union the number of children was born as stated above. The family came to Harrison county in March, 1861, and settled on section 34, Raglen township. In 1879 she was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The funeral was at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Myerses. J. W. Wight delivered the funeral discourse at 11 o'clock a. m. Interment took place at the Magnolia cemetery, Feb. 7.
