From a history of Ada Louisa:
"When Jerry was four and Elmer two years old, their father was hurt while digging in a well and he developed pneumonia. Later, on a trip to Salt Lake, he was thrown from a wagon and injured and died from the effects of both on April 5th, 1868. He is buried near Chalk Creek."
The exact location of the burial of Jeremiah Mahoney is unknown at this point. He may have been buried on the family property. A trip to the Coalville Cemetery showed that he is not listed there.
There is a sister, Harriet Emily Mahoney Staley, buried at Upton Cemetery, Utah - which is about 10 miles up Chalk Creek from Coalville. A brother, Stephen C. Mahoney, also died in the Coalville area, no record of where.
Ada subsequently married William Henry Walker as his second wife and, along with her three children, they moved to the Heber City area, then to the Provo River above Hailstone Junction.
