Funeral services were held at the LaForge Undertaking Company chapel Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Georgia Burton, 83, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Griffin, near Sikeston on Sunday, August 3. A Baptist minister from Sikeston conducted the service and burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
Mrs. Burton was well known in this city, having lived here for many years before going to make her home with her daughter.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by three sons, Johnnie Burton of Paducah, Ky. and Alonzo and Charles Burton of Sikeston, fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
