He was born on Sept. 5, 1906, in Caruthersville to the late Jefferson Davis and Georgia (Rudder) Burton. He attended schools in Caruthersville and later married the former Anna Lee Carlton in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Burton moved to Blytheville in 1945 and spent the last 22 years in California. He was an interior decorator before his retirement.
Mr. Burton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Caruthersville.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dixie Lee Thompson of Ballwin; a sister, Mrs. Lela Griffin of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and a granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Cletus Mott, Ralph Carlton, Eddie Cowles, Howard Fike, George Phipps, and Albert Cravens. Interment was in the Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville.
