Dagny Elizabeth Aspelin
COUNCIL GROVE - Dagny Elizabeth Aspelin,
91, died Thursday at a nursing home here where she had been resident since September 1977.
She was born Sept. 30, 1886 at Copenhagen, Denmark, the daughter of Jens and Thora Nicholson. She came to the United States with her family in 1990 and located in Junction City. She later moved to a farm near Dwight.
She was married Nov. 14, 1912 to Albert Aspelin at Dwight. He died in 1950.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Dwight since 1905.
Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Ruth Reid and Mrs. Esther Hogle, both of Dwight, Mrs. Helen Hill and Mrs. Rosalie Myrtle, both
of Wichita, Mrs. Norma Wendt, Oak Park, IL.,
Mrs Georgia Newman, Salt Lake City, and Lola Aspelin, Shawnee Mission.
Other suvivors include two sons, Edward Aspelin and James Aspelin, both of Dwight,
17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church at Dwight. Burial will be
in Dwight Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church at Dwight. Kendall Funeral Home, Council Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
