Edward C. Thomas, age 86. Suddenly Monday, August 3, 2009 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born in Hibbing, MN to the late Michael and Pauline (nee Bozich) Thomas, he was a resident of Joliet since 1925.
A United States World War II Navy veteran. He retired from Deaton-Kennedy Company in 2005, following 33 years of service.
Surviving are his loving wife, Eleanor (nee Froncek) Thomas of Crest Hill; three children, Linda Lee (Gerald) Bruggeman of Plainfield, Mark (Ruth) Thomas of Batavia and Edward (late Joan) Thomas of Crest Hill; his twin brother John (the late Mary) Thomas; four grandchildren, Nicole Burkett, Matthew Thomas and Jarid Knorr and Trena Bruggeman; two great-grandchildren, Austin Burkett and Aiden Knorr; one sister, Anna (late Tony) Gregorash of Plainfield; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Marian, Kathleen, Agnes, Frances, Margaret and Betty; five brothers, Casmir, Anthony, Stephan, Clarence and Raymond.
Funeral Services for Edward C. Thomas will be Friday, August 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Fr. John Doyle officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
