The Anthon Herald, 8 November 1933, page 1: John B. Hinds was born at Anthon September 30, 1884 and died in a Sioux City hospital Thursday, November 2, 1933, aged 49 years, 1 month and 2 days. He had been in poor health for the last 15 years and death was caused by a gangrenous gallbladder. He spent his early life around Anthon and later moved to Moville where he lived his remaining years. He was married to Lulu May Tiffany March 8, 1905, in Correctionville. Survivors include his widow of Moville, 2 daughters, Mabel and Thelma of Moville, his father, William Hinds of Anthon, a sister, Mrs. Mary Lambert of Anthon and a brother Ike Hinds of Anthon. His mother, one sister and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at Rock Branch Sunday afternoon with Rev. F.G. Grantham officiating. Burial was in the Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch.
