The Laurens County native lived in Brunswick for 43 years before moving to Vidalia. He was a World War II veteran, retired from B & W with 30 years of service and was a charter member of Arco Baptist Church in Brunswick.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Odom Horne, Vidalia; two sons, Wayne Horne and Greg Horne, Brunswick; two sisters, Mae Smith and Ruth Warren, Brunswick; two brothers, Calvin Horne, Reidsville, and L.C. Horne, Vidalia; three granddaughters, Lara, Sara and Jena Horne; one step-grandson, Chan Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 14, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Smith officiating. Interment followed in South Thompson Cemetery.
