Daughter of John Franklin Parnell and Elsie Clementine Laffoon Parnell.

Rena N. Parnell Barnes, 83, of Mt. Home died Thrusday (Oct 28, 1993) at Baxter County Regional Hospital.

Services will be 2PM Saturday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Dillon officiating. Visitaion is from 9AM to 9PM today with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8PM at Roller Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery with Kenny Lawson, Robert Lawson, Aubrey Burmingham, Lowell Walker, Andy Simpson and Robert Dale Skidmore serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Barnes was a Mt. Home resident since 1989, formerly of Pitsburg, CA. She was born on Dec 7, 1909, at Old Joe and was a homemaker. She married Coy J. Barnes on March 24, 1950, at Columbus, KS and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was also a charter member of the California District 9 Old Time Fiddlers Assoc. She loved music, fishing, traveling and jokes.

Survivors include her husband, Coy of the home; a stepson, Jerry Barnes of Independence, MO; a sister-in-law, Stella Jones of Jacksonport; and several nieces and nephews.

Both parents, John Franklin and Elsie Clementine Laffoon Parnell, eight brother and four sister, preceded her in death.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Stacey Johnson, Dr. William H. Ford, Frenchie Gallant, Charlie Strow, Howard Rand, Carl Goodnight, and Red Holland.
