Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Winnfield at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, January 26, with the Rev. H. H. McBride, Rev. Alwin Stokes, and Rev. Fred S. Flurry, officiating. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCloy, who was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. McElroy, was born at Atlanta, La., on October 31, 1907, and was reared and educated in that community. She was a graduate of Atlanta High School and became well known as a trustworthy civic and church worker in her community.
She was married to John W. McCloy 18 years ago and they have made their home in Winnfield since that time. Mrs. McCloy was a member of the Winnfield First Baptist Church and had taken a leading part in church and civic work until she became ill several months ago. She served as Department Superintendent and teacher for many years in the Sunday School and took part in many other church activities.
Surviving are her husband, John W. McCloy, Winnfield merchant; one daughter, Betty; her mother, Mrs. J. H. McElroy, Winnfield; three brothers, Guy L. McElroy, Dallas W. McElroy, and Ardis R. McElroy of Winnfield; and four sisters, Mrs. A. E. Davis of Shreveport, Mrs. B. F. Reinking of Chicago, Mrs. Lunsford G. Bates of Little Rock, and Mrs. Stephen Juneau of Topeka, Kansas.
Pallbearers were S. L. Garrett, Harwell Allen, John Royal, John W. Wroten, Ovey Trahan, and W. C. Postle.
